Failing to plan is planning to fail.
At PM Academy, we believe that successful programmes and projects start with clear strategic alignment. When projects are not aligned to organisational vision, objectives, and priorities, they struggle to deliver real business value, no matter how well they are executed.
Our Programme and Project Facilitation service provides structured, expert-led planning sessions that bring clarity, alignment, and momentum to your initiatives. We work closely with your leadership team, project teams, and key stakeholders to ensure your programmes and projects are planned right the first time.
What We Do
PM Academy facilitates structured programme and project planning workshops designed to:
- Clearly define the scope, objectives, success criteria, and benefits
- Establish realistic timelines, budgets, and resourcing
- Align stakeholders around a shared understanding and direction
- Reduce ambiguity, rework, and downstream delivery risk
- Set a strong foundation for confident execution
Facilitation sessions are practical, highly engaging, and outcome-driven, ensuring that decisions are made, ownership is clear, and momentum is built.
Our PPFacilitate™ Methodology
We follow a proven 6-step PPFacilitate™ methodology when delivering Programme and Project Facilitation services.
1. Confirm Scope and Contract
We confirm and finalise the facilitation scope, delivery approach, project structure, reporting requirements, and timelines.
A formal facilitation contract is prepared and signed by both parties to ensure clarity and alignment from the outset.
2. Facilitation Planning
A Project Charter or Project Initiation Document (PID) is developed to clearly define the scope and objectives of the facilitation engagement.
During this phase, we:
- Engage with key stakeholders
- Gain a deep understanding of the organisational environment
- Clarify strategic objectives and expectations
- Prepare participants for the facilitation sessions
3. Methodology Alignment
Facilitation is tailored using internationally recognised best-practice frameworks, including:
- PMBOK® Guide
- PRINCE2®
- Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®)
A detailed facilitation plan is agreed and formally signed off by both the client and PM Academy.
4. Conduct Facilitation Sessions
We facilitate structured programme or project planning sessions with identified stakeholders, using a range of tools and techniques to:
- Encourage active participation
- Maintain focus on agreed objectives
- Drive decision-making and consensus
- Capture key inputs, risks, assumptions, and dependencies
Sessions are professionally facilitated to balance engagement, structure, and outcomes.
5. Compile and Agree Draft Documentation
Following the sessions, we formalise all required documentation and ensure it meets agreed standards and requirements.
Draft documentation is:
- Distributed to stakeholders
- Presented and discussed
- Refined based on feedback
- Formally agreed to ensure relevance, accuracy, and stakeholder buy-in
6. Handover and Closure
All final programme or project documentation is formally handed over to the client’s programme or project management team.
The facilitation engagement is formally closed, leaving the organisation with a clear, actionable, and aligned plan ready for execution.
Outcomes You Can Expect
- Clear, agreed-upon programme or project plans
- Strong stakeholder alignment and ownership
- Reduced planning risk and uncertainty
- Improved confidence in execution readiness
- A solid foundation for delivery success
